Wikipedia, of all places, also has a very comprehensive list of the attacks launched against Israel from Gaza, complete with footnotes.

As fond as I am of Mohamed, and I understand his point, I need to disagree to a certain extent--the reason Israel is finally taking military action is because WE had nothing to lose. Hamas's refusal to renew a truce, and their escalation of force, gave us the choice of (1) do nothing and cower in shelters, watching our people die or (2) fight back.

Apologies to Butch Cassidy, but cousins -- never bring a Kassam to an F-16 fight.....

As I described it in an email exchange with a friend, what Hamas has done is a like a 97 pound weakling repeatedly punching Mohamed Ali in the nose...and then being surprised when the boxer decks him.

Many a time I have heard someone decribe how, an hour drive from the beach cafes of Tel Aviv, you get to a war zone - a nod to your comment on how one would not notice the war if not by the front lines..

We seem to disagree on the starting point (wherever in time you'd place this point). Your post suggests that the Gaza Strip is a free entity, a country really, which has declared war on its neighbour.
I view it as territory under occupation (I know you disagree) and therefore is under a constant attack from Israel.
It seems to me that the format of the 'resolution' to the current war will depend on how we define it: 'the continuation of hostility' (as I would view it) on the part of Israel, or a 'just response' to a foreign attack (as you do).

Yes: we (well, people) will get bogged down in this discussion. And people will discuss 'which happened first', as always. Which will delay the end of hostilities - until a party (or both!) declare victory!

Israel has been extraordinarily patient with the Gaza attacks on Israeli civilians. They have been patient to the point where the Palestinians were toying with Israel and felt confident enough about their capacity to inflict terror through their bombings that they negotiated a cease-fire with the much stronger side.

(..But the Palestinian child would not have been injured if Hamas had not first launched attacks such as the one that injured the girl in the photo above..)

To continue with this mind-game it’s fair to say, the Israeli girl would never been hurt if Israel didn’t besieged Gaza.

You are another idiot clown.
